In-House Vulcanizing

Do you want to stretch your dollar further? Consider having your OTR tires vulcanized at our in-house shop. Vulcanizing, also known as section repair, is a big money saver.  Did you know that 85% of damaged tires can be section repaired?

If an OTR tire still has a lot of tread remaining, a section repair can extend the life of your tire. It is less expensive to repair an OTR tire than to purchase a new one. You can save a tremendous amount of money by repairing your tires.

We can complete most section repairs within a week compared to most dealers that send them out, which could take weeks. Each step is done by hand by our section repair technicians. Each tire’s repair is customized according to its damage. Each technician is personally trained by Allen Ware in the shop after he completes the Rema Tip Top training series on CD. He checks each repair for quality and durability. We guarantee our work.

The Section Repair Process consists of:

  • washing the tire inside and out
  • inspecting the tire for damage
  • cutting out the damaged section
  • filling it with rope rubber
  • curing it on the EM 3 machine
  • baking it on the machine for 8 hours
  • buffing off the excess rubber
  • pressing on the re-enforced patch

Once vulcanized, your OTR tire must be mounted on the rear of your equipment. We don’t recommend using a vulcanized tire on the front axle. We usually move a good rear tire to the front and mount the vulcanized tire to the rear.

If you have any used OTR tires that may qualify for this process, please give us a call. We’ll inspect them and select the ones for repair.
